Sarah Louise Ings, a multifaceted and acclaimed saxophonist, has carved a distinctive niche in the music industry with her unique blend of talent and creativity. Her journey into the world of music began with a scholarship to a private school in Cheltenham, leading to prestigious opportunities at every leading Music Conservatoire in the UK. Choosing the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for her studies, Ings embraced a varied musical career, encompassing genres from classical to pop.
Ings’ career highlights include touring with Classic FM and Yamaha, performing for Prince Charles, and opening the Hackney Empire. She has shared the stage with notable artists like Lionel Ritchie, Katherine Jenkins, Tony Hadley, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Peter Andre, demonstrating her versatility and appeal across diverse musical genres.
As a composer, producer, string arranger, and multi-instrumentalist, Ings has delved into various aspects of music production, from creating music videos to art direction and music consultancy. Her extensive understanding of music allows her to seamlessly work within all genres, tailoring her performances to her audience’s preferences.
One of her notable projects, VISION, commissioned by Classic FM and Yamaha, showcased her ability to blend classical and film music, redefining the perception of classical music. Ings further developed this concept with her classical crossover group Sahara, which combined traditional string quartet elements with beats and choreography.
Ings has also collaborated with various artists, such as opera singer Jonathan Antoine, arranging and producing music for laser violinist Lumina. Her solo career, marked by a debut at the Purcell Rooms, Queen Elizabeth Hall, highlights her prowess as a solo performer.
Sarah also performs in her Sarah Saxophone’s DJ Sax Live show which has become one of the most sort after hire shows in London. Known for her high energy, Sarah performs live alongside a top London DJ, delivering a performance that is sure to set your event on fire!
