Happy birthday to one of the most accomplished saxophonists of our time, Tia Fuller! Born on March 27th, 1976, Fuller has made a name for herself as a groundbreaking musician, composer, and bandleader, breaking barriers and inspiring generations of female musicians.
Fuller’s playing is characterized by her virtuosic technique, soulful sound, and innovative approach to jazz music. She has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Beyonce, Esperanza Spalding, and Terri Lyne Carrington, and has recorded a number of critically acclaimed albums as a bandleader, including “Diamond Cut” and “Angelic Warrior.”
In addition to her exceptional musicianship, Fuller is also a trailblazer for female musicians in jazz. She has spoken out about the challenges women face in the industry, and has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for female musicians and inspire the next generation of jazz artists.
